Job Summary

The Technical Lead – Cloud Services (Azure) will lead the design, deployment, and management of Azure-based cloud systems. This role ensures scalable, secure, and efficient cloud operations across Sysco LABS’ enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Azure cloud platform management work, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
• Designing, implementing, and managing highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and application teams to understand business requirements, translating them into cloud architecture designs, and providing operational support to application teams.
• Developing and maintaining cloud migration strategies, including assessing existing systems, identifying gaps, and recommending remediation plans.
• Ensuring the security, availability, and performance of Azure resources through proper design and configuration.
• Implementing and optimizing cloud-based solutions, including virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and identity management.
• Defining and enforcing cloud governance policies, including resource tagging, access controls, and cost management.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to Azure infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Azure and cloud computing technologies and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security specialists, to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Working with DevOps and IaC tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Kubernetes.
• Ensuring the security and compliance of all Sysco’s infrastructure, data, applications, and configurations.
• Cloud adoption/migration strategies implementation for the Organization.
• Designing/Developing Scripts for Automation where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Azure infrastructure, services, and offerings, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Director.
• Should have a successful track record in architecting, designing, implementing, and managing systems and infrastructure in a cloud computing environment, including multi-cloud hybrid architectures.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field; An MSc or relevant postgraduate qualifications will be an additional advantage.
• 8+ years of industry experience and 7+ years of working experience with Azure cloud platform.
• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Professional, with a strong focus on designing and implementing Azure-based solutions.
• Certified in Microsoft Azure Administrator or Architect Expert level.
• A solid understanding of different cloud environments and applications, including hybrid scenarios, optimizing cost/capacity ratios, scaling, implementing, and validating database and DR scenarios, security, and compliance.
• Knowledge of cloud security controls including conditional access policies, tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, federated authentication vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities, able to convey risk to all levels of the business, from executives to operations and development teams.
