Job Summary
The Voice Operations Team Leader will lead and manage a team of voice engineers to maintain and enhance enterprise-level voice communication systems. The role involves ensuring service reliability, implementing performance improvements, and overseeing upgrades for VoIP, PBX, and unified communication infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the voice engineering team.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise voice infrastructure (VoIP, SBCs, PBXs, SIP trunking).
• Ensure service uptime and prompt issue resolution.
• Manage technical escalations and provide expert-level support when needed.
• Monitor and optimize voice system performance, security, and call quality.
• Implement and maintain QoS and bandwidth optimization strategies.
• Lead system upgrades, migrations, and new deployment projects.
• Collaborate with vendors, IT, and business units to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain documentation, performance reports, and operational best practices.
• Serve as the key contact for all voice operations and support matters.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in voice systems engineering, including team leadership experience.
• Expertise in Voice Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
• Deep understanding of VoIP protocols SIP, RTP, H.323.
• Experience managing PBX systems (Cisco, Avaya, FreeSwitch, Microsoft Teams Voice, etc.).
• Familiarity with unified communications platforms and network configurations.
• Knowledge of QoS policies, SIP trunking, and VoIP troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
