Job Summary

The Chief Risk Officer will oversee the company’s risk management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing financial and operational risks, and supporting strategic decision-making to enhance institutional resilience.

Responsibilities

• Support OFP in establishing and reviewing risk policies, frameworks, and guidelines in compliance with CDSL requirements.
• Ensure timely identification, assessment, and monitoring of both financial and non-financial risks.
• Assist in implementing an effective ICAAP process and in preparing BIRMC reports.
• Manage liquidity, interest rate, credit, and operational risks within the approved Risk Management Framework.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Operational Risk Management Framework, including RCSA activities and related reporting.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with CBSL and internal risk policies.
• Provide secretarial support for BIRMC meetings.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the CRO as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Risk Management.
• Full or associate membership in CIMA, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka, or equivalent.
• Diploma or certification in Risk & Compliance from CBSL or equivalent institution.
• Additional certifications in ERM, FRM, or CRA will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar capacity in financial services, banking, or investment industry.
• Proven track record in risk governance, compliance, and strategic risk management.
• Experience working with CBSL and other financial regulators.
• Strong knowledge of CBSL regulations and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and risk management tools.
