Job Summary

The Category Executive role involves driving category growth by analyzing market data, managing product ranges, and developing effective trade plans. The position requires strong coordination skills, supplier management, and the ability to make informed decisions that shape category performance.

Responsibilities

• Identify new suppliers and expand the product assortment
• Build and execute trade plans covering sales, promotions, and pricing
• Select and manage product ranges using market insights and performance data
• Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to resolve stock issues and improve availability
• Forecast consumer trends and track category performance
• Recommend product launches, range adjustments, or discontinuations based on data
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms
• Analyze market, consumer, and industry trends to support category decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field
• At least 2–3 years of experience in category management, retail, or similar work
• Experience with fresh produce or FMCG is a strong advantage
• A track record of working with cross-functional teams and delivering category plans
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work within timelines
• Clear communication, solid negotiation abilities, and strong relationship-building skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
