Astute Business Partners seeks an Australian Accountant for its Colombo office. You will manage end-to-end accounting and tax compliance for Australian clients, prepare financial statements, provide tax advice, and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for Australian clients.

• Prepare & review individual, company, partnership and trust tax returns.

• Lead FBT, Division 7A, CGT, and year-end compliance work.

• Prepare BAS, financial statements, adjustment journals & reconciliations.

• Provide practical tax advice and problem-solving support.

• Mentor & train junior accountants as the team grows.

• Build strong relationships with clients, becoming their go-to person.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and understanding of Tax regulations.

• Proficiency in preparing Financial Statements and knowledge of Accounting principles and practices.

• Attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.

• Proficiency with accounting software and tools, and experience in the Australian financial services.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CA) preferred.
