About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Executive to join our operations team in Colombo. The selected candidate will manage and coordinate import documentation, customs clearance procedures, and approvals from government authorities, including Board of Investment (BOI) compliance. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced logistics environment and has a solid background in freight and import operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily import documentation and coordinate related processes from shipment initiation to delivery.
- Liaise with BOI and other regulatory authorities for necessary approvals and clearances.
- Coordinate with internal teams, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to track and manage shipment statuses.
- Maintain up-to-date records for imports and ensure compliance with relevant shipping and customs regulations.
- Resolve documentation discrepancies and follow up on timely clearance of shipments.
- Provide administrative support in handling client shipments and generating related reports.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in import documentation and clearing procedures.
- Solid knowledge of freight forwarding and logistics operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and vendor coordination.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail under pressure.
- Prior experience with BOI processes is highly preferred.
- A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
