Job Description:
Our Client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to support the Sri Lanka Deposit Insurance and Liquidity Support Fund (SLDILSF) and the World Bank Financial Sector Safety Net Project. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting project coordination and reporting activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful financial initiatives that strengthen Sri Lanka’s financial stability and institutional governance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist focal points of the World Bank Financial Sector Safety Net Project by drafting reports, processing information, and coordinating communication.
- Support coordination between the Department and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, books of accounts, and financial statements of the SLDILSF.
- Assist in regulatory compliance through data management and monitoring.
- Assist with accounting and financial reporting functions related to the Deposit Insurance Scheme and ensure timely and accurate processing of payment transactions of the SLDILSF.
- Handle information requests from stakeholders such as the Inland Revenue Department, IADI, and the World Bank concerning the Sri Lanka Deposit Insurance Scheme.
- Support the operation of the Depositor-Wise Data Collection System (DWDCS), including coordination with LBs and LFCs, validating depositor data, compiling reports, and maintaining data logs for supervisory and audit purposes.
Candidate Profile:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Banking and Finance from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- Or G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) qualification with at least three (03) ‘B’ passes in main subjects in the Commerce stream, obtained in a single sitting, and successful completion of the Corporate Level examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
- At least one (01) year of experience in the banking and finance sector or in an audit firm.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess two (2) or more years of relevant experience in accounting, banking and financial services sector.
- Knowledge of accounting, banking and finance practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data systems.
- Report drafting and data processing skills.
- Familiarity with financial record-keeping and validation.
- Strong administrative and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail in data and file management.
